What kind of money do you yourself actually make after all is said and done? $4m sounds good on paper but chips away quickly when you pay for staff wages, inventory, real estate, etc.

I know nothing about golf equipment. What should I be looking for in clubs?

You should look for an inexpensive starter set or a free hand-me-down. Work on your swing with irons and putting, no need for a driver to start. Once you get comfortable, you will develop preferences and know what questions to ask.

Honestly I would stay away from them unless you can learn quite a bit before you get into it.

You hear so many conflicting stories about golfing being a dangerous sport, but when you watch it on tv none of the really comes through. What makes it so dangerous & how would you recommend someone try the sport as a beginner in a safe way. Thanks

Bears can really rip your arms off of they're having a bad day. Best to carry a sawed off shotgun or rpg-7 if you want to stay safe. This also makes it easier to destroy your competition.

Golf is not at all dangerous! I would start with the driving range and then graduate to a par 3 course.

Why retail? And have you seen a benefit?

Good question! I've seen a HUGE benefit from getting a retail store. The market exposure it gave me locally pays for itself many times over each month. It also helps that when buying golf clubs people like to touch and swing what they're buying before they buy it. I've found that selling online is actually more work and for less money. If you can find a way to sell locally and especially without having to take pictures and post every item, do it!
