How to invest for monthly income?

Hello. I am looking for some investment advice, thoughts and/or suggestions on my current situation. This is the brief backstory... My wife and I currently live in the USA, I am 36 and she is 34. We've both worked and saved since we were young and want to take a huge leap and leave the USA to travel briefly (4-6 months throughout Europe and Asia), finally settling in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The cost of living and healthcare is very inexpensive in Thailand. We are expecting our living costs to average between $1200-$1500 USD per month. My question is, we are leaving the USA with the following financial scenario: We have 200K liquid that I would like to invest for income. Right now I have been looking at: VPGDX, vanguard's managed payout growth and distribution fund. When I plug in 200K, the fund generates approximately $765 (5%) per month and will not far exceed inflation, over time, but says it will keep up with inflation. I have read a few negative comments about these types of managed payout funds, that they have dipped in to principal (during low periods) and that I can do better by picking mutual funds myself. The problem is, I will be traveling and not able to put a lot of time in to managing this money, so right now this type of fund seems desirable. Am I making a wise choice here? Also worth noting, we'll be leaving with 180K in retirement that is in our Roth IRAs. This of course will not be touched for at least 30 years. Extraneous to what we generate from the invested 200K, we will supplement our monthly income with a small business venture and teaching English as a foreign language. This has been a dream of ours, to travel the world...but we want to be as sure as we can that it's realistic and aren't screwing ourselves financially speaking.
